The Moon in Astrology

The Moon represents our inner world: our emotions, mood, feelings of inner security, sensitivity, the unconscious and intuition.  In astrology the Moon is one of the most important planets as she is also mother, home, family, feelings and habits and how we instinctually react to life.

About the Sign of Virgo

Virgo strives for perfection so firstly organisation is crucial and the flexibility to adapt to change enables for relaxed perfection.  Criticism and judgement are necessary to achieve what we are striving for as this will us serve ourselves and others best.  The key is not letting the criticism get too negative especially to ourselves, this does not serve anyone at all.

Virgo always has its focus on improvement, it can be very critical, judgemental and even nit-picky looking at things with the discerning eye to point out what’s wrong in a situation.

The most endearing and strongest qualities of Virgo is being of service.  In focusing on the details, it helps us to fine tune our lives by taking in an enormous amount of information and helps us sift through that which if most useful to us.  This is what makes Virgo one of the most productive and efficient signs of the zodiac.

New Moon in Virgo

No matter where our Sun or Moon is in our Natal Chart (Birth Chart), we are all effected by the New Moon in Virgo.

The New Moon signifies “new beginnings” and is a time to set the seeds for the future, so the New Moon in Virgo helps you to renew ways you can take care of yourself to enhance your health and discernment in what is necessary in your life and to let go of that which is not.

This Virgo New Moons energy is asking you to look deeply at the details of your life and disregard what you don’t need.  You may feel the need to declutter your house and/or place of work as this time will make it easier to discard things you really don’t need or use anymore whether that’s selling them or giving them away.  Because Virgo is all about discernment it helps give clarity to what is necessary in your life.

If you’ve been working on something for some time now you can start to organise a way to bring it into the physical world to put to use.  Listen to your gut instincts, this will help you avoid the mental activity of criticism and judgement in wanting it to be perfect.   Perfection is something we strive for and what we perceive perfection to be.  The Virgo energy is brilliant at being methodical, analytical and detailed but don’t get caught up too much in the complexities of things as this will fuel the compulsiveness to be perfect leading to worry and nervousness.

Your health and healing are ruled by Virgo, the Virgo New Moon will help you tune into your body to see where you can improve and make changes.  Look at your eating and exercise regime and include meditation to improve your health and healing on a holistic level.

You may look at detoxing your body to cleanse and remove toxins to improve your health from both outside and inside.   Our minds can become cluttered with critical and stressful thinking interfering with our health.  We cannot stop our stressful thoughts, but we can have a process to deal with our toxic thinking helping us to let go of those that do not serve us.   Be aware you don’t become unbearable to live with during this time.
